ComplAINce LLC d/b/a Civly.ai (“Civly,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a campaign outreach platform that enables political campaigns, committees, and organizations to communicate with supporters and donors via SMS text messages. This page describes how we collect consent, what messages recipients can expect, and how to opt out.

Program Description

Program Name: Civly Campaign Messaging

Sending Organization: Political campaigns, committees, and organizations using the Civly platform send messages on their own behalf. Each message identifies the sending organization by name.

Message Content: Messages may include fundraising appeals, event invitations, campaign updates, donor acknowledgments, and volunteer coordination.

Message Frequency: Up to 10 messages per month. Message frequency varies by campaign.

Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.

How We Collect Consent

We collect consent to send SMS messages through the following methods. All consent is collected before any messages are sent.

1. Verbal Consent (In-Person or Phone)

Campaign staff collect consent during in-person interactions at events such as rallies, fundraisers, town halls, and canvassing, or during phone conversations. Staff are required to read the following consent script before enrolling any contact:

The contact must verbally confirm agreement (e.g., “yes”) before being enrolled. Staff then record the consent in Civly’s CRM with a timestamp, the staff member’s name, and the method of consent collection.

2. Text-to-Join (Keyword Opt-In)

End users can text the keyword START to the campaign’s phone number to opt in. Upon receiving the keyword, the system sends an auto-reply confirmation message:

“Civly: You are now opted in to receive campaign messages from [Organization Name]. Up to 10 msgs/mo. Msg & data rates may apply. For help, reply HELP. To opt out, reply STOP.”

3. Web-Based Consent

When contacts provide their phone number through a web intake form or contact page, the form includes a clear, unchecked checkbox with the following disclosure:

The checkbox must be actively selected by the user before form submission. It is never pre-checked.

Consent Records

All consent records are maintained in Civly’s platform database with the following information:
